Essential Oils

Aromatherapy has been around for thousands of years, essential oils have many medicinal properties and can be used to improve your health and wellbeing. Essential oils are extracted from the roots, leaves, seeds or blossoms of herbs, bushes, shrubs and trees.


They are commonly used to aid relaxation, enable sleep and lift moods. On a physical level they can improve circulation, ease joint and muscle pain and aid healing through their antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Basil Essential Oil

Basil essential oil has carminative properties and can be used to relieve indigestion, constipation, stomach cramps and flatulence. It’s effective for providing relief from colds and has antibacterial properties. It is excellent for giving mental clarity and/or if you suffer with nervous tension, migraines and depression. Basil oil is analgesic and provides relief from pain such as arthritis.

Bergamot Essential Oil

Bergamot is a citrus fruit whose rind is used for the essential oil. It is commonly used in Earl grey tea. Bergamot has an uplifting, balancing quality and is excellent for people who suffer with depression and anxiety. It has a delightful, fresh citrusy aroma.

It helps with reducing scars, it heals wounds and is antiseptic.  Bergamot is well known for helping with cystitis.

Clary Sage Essential Oil

Clary sage can be beneficial if you’re struggling with PMS, irregular cycles or menopause-related symptoms. It can also help with symptoms such as cramping because of its antispasmodic properties. During menstruation Clary sage can aid bloating, mood swings and headaches. The essential oil has the ability to relax the arteries allowing blood to circulate more effectively therefore reducing blood pressure and improving the flow of oxygen to the muscles and organs. Frankincense Essential Oil

Geranium Essential Oil

Geranium oil encourages to lift mood, relieve stress, acts as an antiseptic, beneficial for burns, dermatitis and mature skin. It also has acts as a hormone balancer.

Not to be used in people with a history of breast cancer or hyper-sensitive skin (some people with hypersensitive skin may get an allergic rash).

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender has been used for thousands of years. It is an antiseptic, relaxant, sedative, aids to lift mood and is a reviving and soothing oil. The essential oil can ease tension, reduce stress levels and is beneficial for a good night’s sleep. Lavender can be used as an insect repellent.

lemon Essential Oil

The lemon is closely related to the lime and bergamot.

The essential oil is extracted by cold expression from the outer part of the fresh peel.

The essential oil has many benefits which include acne, brittle nails, boils, greasy skin, insect bites varicose veins and warts.

Lemon essential oil benefits arthritis, high blood pressure, nosebleeds, poor circulation, rheumatism, colds fevers and infections.

Lemongrass Essential Oil

Lemongrass has a light and lemony smell with earthy undertones. It is stimulating, relaxing, soothing and balancing. The compounds that make up lemongrass are anti-fungal, insecticidal, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
